Season Four Maple Valley meeting report!

The opening meeting of Season 4 brought the usual good-natured fun racing as the drivers took on two 25 lap races of Maple Valley’s short layout.

Race one got off to a slightly chaotic start as RichXM655 fell foul of cold tyres and  a touch of overexuberance, a combination that doesn’t go well with Porsche 911s. In the ensuing spin, he managed to cause severe damage to both LadySabs’ Opel and Boozy the Clown’s Aston Martin, causing the race to be restarted.

Off the restart, Kurzheck’s nimble Fiat pulled out a steady lead while Rich and Christoph84 fell into line behind her.

The order would mostly remain unchanged to the flag, as the top three drivers all lapped quickly and consistently, until the final lap where Rich understeered off at turn one, and very nearly lost second place to chris.

Race two started with the Kurzheck’s Fiat and Rich’s Porsche colliding at the hairpin, with the orange 911 sustaining damage that necessitated a pit stop.

Kurzheck maintained the lead under close pressure from Cristoph84 while Boozy settled in to 3rd and ladysabs in 4th as the lower field started to stretch out.

Rich, meanwhile had settled into a recovery drive, targeting the final podium spot, and had made it to within a couple of seconds of third-placed Boozy on lap 20 when he lost connection. At the head of the field, Kurzheck maintained her lead. though a less consistent drive than race one meant she was unable to pull out such a large lead.

Season 4

Forza 7 might have brought a largely unwelcome loot crate system, but as some form of consolation we're doing roadsports again!

For those who competed in previous seasons, we have some minor variations in rules and Spec - we're leaning a little later than before with a 1960-1979 date range, and the PI limit has come up to 450. We're also bringing in a power cap at 350hp to try and keep the spread within 100hp or so. The traditional rules around rollcage, gearboxes and rims are all still here, make sure to read the Technical regulations page when you build.

Loot cars that fit the requirements are eligible if you're lucky enough to get one *koff* Stratos *koff*, but there's still plenty of good stuff available.

The race meetings will be as before, a 3-lap qually session sets the grid for race 1, the fastest laps in race 1 set the grid for race 2, both races being about 20 minutes.

The calendar:
29th October: Maple Valley Short
12th November: Mugello Club
26th November: Suzuka West (expect some Weather ;))
10th December: Lime Rock Park
